Dental Inlays & Onlays

Dental inlays and onlays are essentially larger versions of dental fillings that are made outside of the mouth and cemented to your teeth.

Dental Inlays

Dental inlays are larger in size than regular fillings. They are used to fill the space in between the cusps (the rounded edges) at the center of the tooth's surface.

Inlays are usually made either of composite material or porcelain and are strong enough to withstand the chewing pressure placed on the back teeth.

Dental Onlays

Dental onlays are sometimes called "partial crowns" because they're large enough to cover one or more cusps and sometimes even the entire biting surface of a tooth.

Onlays are placed in cases where a full dental crown would be too excessive a treatment choice. Dental onlays are highly durable and with care can last for up to 30 years.
