About The Mission
My dental mission to the northern mountainous region of Esteli, Nicaragua was particularly memorable as it would be the first time (but not the last) that my future husband would participate in a dental mission.
Change for Children
Change for Children partners with communities in Latin America and Africa who are struggling against poverty and injustice, to improve access to basic needs, healthcare, and education. Their development projects, including their cost and priority, are determined by our Southern partners based on the current needs of their communities.

My Experience
Although he is not a dentist, my husband quickly learned the necessary skills to clean and sterilize all of our dental instruments. The collaboration and teamwork of the dentists, hygenists, dental assistants and non-dental volunteers on this mission enabled us to diagnose and treat 100's children many of whom had never seen a dentist before.
